Product description
Panasonic 4462 is an addressable two-input unit with a built-in short-circuit isolator. It is used to connect volt-free contacts to the fire alarm system, for example sprinkler system monitoring contacts or status information from other equipment. The unit takes its operating voltage from the COM loop and is intended for surface mounting indoors.
The unit has two general-purpose inputs (Z/In0 and In2) for NO or NC contacts. The inputs are programmed with EBLWin and can be configured as supervised or unsupervised. A supervised NO input uses a 33 kΩ end-of-line resistor, so the unit detects an open circuit as a fault. The built-in short-circuit isolator does not require its own address and divides the loop into segments, so a short circuit disables only the faulty part. The red LED can be lit with the Toggle LED function in EBLWin to locate the device.
Installation and compatibility
- Surface mounting on a wall or ceiling; cable glands are not included
- The 4463 adapter kit is available for DIN rail mounting
- Automatic addressing with EBLWin or manually with the 4414/4414E tool (address 001–253)
