Fire detection for industry and energy production
PAP has built conveyor protection for Kuopion Energia. On long conveyor lines, fire detection is often implemented with a linear heat detector, which monitors the temperature along the entire length of the cable and also withstands outdoor conditions.
For demanding spaces, such as dusty or high halls, an aspirating smoke detection system is another option: it draws air samples through a pipe network to a detector.

Survey and quotation
Our sales team surveys the current state of the site and helps you choose a system. Read how design proceeds.
Implementation
Equipment deliveries, installation, programming and commissioning are handled as one service package. More about installation.
Periodic maintenance
We carry out maintenance in line with the maintenance instructions for the equipment and systems and record any repair needs observed. Read about what a maintenance agreement covers.
Rescue plan
We prepare rescue plans based on the property’s operations and premises, and on the digital platform you keep the plan up to date yourself. Explore our rescue plan service.
What happens when a fire alarm system raises an alarm?
In our article, a senior lecturer at the Emergency Services College in Kuopio explains how an alarm proceeds from the Emergency Response Centre to the rescue department and why early notification reduces fire damage.

Frequently asked questions
Is a linear heat detector suitable for outdoor conveyors?
Yes. A linear heat detector based on optical fibre withstands changing weather conditions, and installing the cable is cost-effective even over long distances.
Does PAP maintain fire alarm systems from other manufacturers?
We maintain fire alarm systems and other fire safety systems in accordance with their maintenance instructions. When you contact us, tell us the site’s system and the equipment manufacturer, and we will work out how the maintenance can be carried out.
Where can a customer in the region get training for their staff?
TAITO training services tailor training to the needs of the site, and the practical arrangements are agreed in connection with the quotation. Explore our training.
