The plan must serve the people who work in, live in or visit the site. That is why the starting point is the actual operating environment – not a generic text in which only the property’s name has been changed.
A new rescue plan
For a new plan, information is gathered on the property, its operations, the responsible persons and the safety arrangements available. The source data required and the scope of the work are reviewed together with the site’s representatives.
When preparing the plan, we combine existing documents with information from the people who know the property. The result is a rescue plan based on the property’s operations, ready on the digital platform.
When the current plan is out of date
If the property already has a rescue plan, it is a good starting point. We go through what has changed at the site, for example in the use of the premises, responsible persons, contact details or procedures, and whether a limited change or a more extensive revision is needed.
The up-to-date plan is set up on the Codeax®SAFE platform, where you continue to maintain it yourself.
What information do we need from the customer?
Useful information for the preparation includes the property’s basic details, floor plans, the current plan, information on the safety systems and the contact details of the responsible persons. Please also tell us about the property’s operations and any upcoming changes.
Not all the information has to be ready before you first contact us. To begin with, we agree what material is needed and who will take part in gathering it.
Maintaining the plan with your own user account
PAP’s rescue plan customers get access to the Codeax®SAFE platform. When the use of the premises, responsible persons or contact details change, you update the plan yourself on the platform, and the change is immediately visible to everyone who uses the plan. The platform makes updating and sharing the plan easy, and PAP helps if you need support.
Existing customers log in to the platform via customer login.
Digital rescue plan or PDF?
A plan distributed as a separate file is only up to date as long as everyone has its latest version. On the Codeax®SAFE platform, the plan is a single whole kept online:
- Up to date and in one place. All safety information is available in one place, and updates are visible in real time. Everyone uses the same plan, so there is no need to distribute separate file versions.
- Make changes yourself, straight away. You update the plan with your own user account as soon as something changes at the site.
- Shareable online. The plan can be shared in real time with the people who need it.
- Information linked to floor plans. Safety information is placed on the property’s floor plans as symbols and as images, videos, audio, text and links. When people can explore the safety of the premises directly from the floor plans, the risk of misinterpretation is reduced.
- Statutory requirements. The platform has been developed to meet the requirements set by legislation.

A plan that supports practical action
A rescue plan supports the staff’s shared procedures. PAP also provides fire safety training and evacuation drills as separate services.
