Alarm transmission

Alarm transmission

Alarm transmission as part of
fire safety

Most public buildings must have a fire alarm in case of fire, which informs the emergency services of the fire and faults that have started. A separate service is always required to transmit the alarm information from the fire detector: the alarm transmission interface. This alarm transmission interface must be continuously monitored and available. This is particularly important for buildings where there is no continuous monitoring.

Alarm transmission - secure and fast communication with the emergency centre

Alarm transmission is a critical part of the fire alarm system, ensuring that fire and fault alarms are quickly transmitted to the emergency centre and the right parties. The alarm transmission system connects fire alarm destination information and other relevant data to the emergency services. The system also monitors connection failures and directs the necessary actions for fault repair. The alarm transmission system must be operational before the site is put into service, and its ordering requires approval from both the operator and the emergency centre.

The fire notification is received by the emergency services' information systems, where it is combined with the target information and other information specified by the emergency services. The fire alarm is forwarded to the rescue authority for action. More detailed information on the location and nature of the subject of the notification may also be transmitted to the emergency centre.

When a fault is reported, the emergency call centre will contact the fire alarm operator indicated in the target information and request that corrective action be initiated. Notification transmission is an essential part of an automatic fire alarm system. The notification relay system relays the line fault monitoring notifications to the notification relay operator. If the connection used for notification transmission is backed up by a backup connection, the backup connection shall meet the requirements of the primary connection in case of failure of the primary connection.

The contact failure information is forwarded to the Notification Relay Operator for the initiation of corrective action. The Notification Relay Operator shall communicate with the holder of the fire alarm. The actions to be taken in case of a fault report in the notification system shall be defined in the connection agreement between the Notification Relay Operator and the holder. The measures to be taken by the property owner in the event of a connection failure are defined in a separate line failure manual. The fire alarm system shall have clear instructions on how to act in case of fire alarm and connection failure.

Alternatively, the fire and fault alarm may be transmitted to another permanently manned location approved by the emergency services and the property owner, as specified in the fire alarm life cycle manual, from where the alarms can be transmitted to the emergency call centre. This service shall be referred to as the Secondary Control Point.

The alarm transmission must be in order before the site is put into operation. The Emergency Response Centre usually needs a protocol for the implementation of the site to accompany the application for connection to the Emergency Response Centre. At least one telephone number is always required for the application to report a 24-hour alarm. The name and telephone number of the operator of the fire alarm system is also required at the time of installation. The PAP Group handles the ordering of the alarm transfer from the operator and the customer must make the application to the emergency call centre himself via the ILMO system.

Alerting service - up-to-date notifications of incidents

If you wish, you can take the PAP Group's Alarm Service as an additional service. In this case, the customer will be informed of selected situations. The following situations can be communicated: fire, fault, preventive and maintenance. The notification is sent to the customer by text or voice message or by e-mail.

Addressed information transmission is an additional service that provides the exact location of the fault situation, e.g. by room. Here too, the notification can be sent in the situations chosen by the customer: fire, fault, preventive and maintenance. The notification is transmitted by text or voice message or by e-mail.
