Panasonic 4445 addressable local alarm acknowledgement button

Panasonic 4445 is an addressable local alarm acknowledgement button (LAAU) that is connected to the COM loop. It is installed, for example, in an apartment or similar premises together with a smoke detector and a base sounder. When the detector detects smoke, the base sounder sounds locally and the red LED of the button lights up.

If the green button is pressed within the acknowledgement time (10–120 s, default 30 s), the local sound is silenced and the investigation time (1–9 min, default 3 min) begins, during which the smoke can be aired out. If the detectors return to normal within the investigation time, the alarm ends. Otherwise, or if the button is not pressed, the control panel gives a normal fire alarm, which is transmitted to the fire brigade and the alarm systems. The acknowledgement can be programmed to be repeatable up to three times.

One LAA group consists of 1–5 analogue smoke detectors (4401, 4401I, 4400, 4400I or wireless 4611), at least one buzzer, such as base sounder 4479, and one acknowledgement button. From EBLWin 2.4.1 onwards, a whole detection zone can be connected to an LAA group. With multi-sensor detectors 4400 and 4400I, the function can be set to be aborted by a heat alarm (56 °C).

Installation

• Wall mounting with frame or flush mounting in a 65 mm round box
• The address 001–253 and NORMAL mode are set with tool 3314 or 4414 before connection to the loop
• All devices in an LAA group must be on the same control panel
