Panasonic 4418 addressable remote indicator

Panasonic 4418 is an addressable remote indicator that is connected to the COM loop of the fire alarm system. It is used when a detector is located out of sight or concealed, so that the detector that gave the alarm can be located from the indicator. The indicator is intended for dry indoor premises and is mounted on the wall.

The indicator has two operating modes. In NORMAL mode, the 4418 is set to the same address as the detector it indicates, and its LED lights up at the same time as the LED of the detector or base. In this mode, the indicator only listens to the loop traffic, so it is not supervised by the control panel. In Advanced mode (default), the indicator has its own address and one programmable output, which is controlled in EBLWin with a control expression; the output types are steady, delayed and delayed reset. The LED always flashes when it is active.

Installation and compatibility

• Wall mounting, screws not included
• Connection directly to the COM loop, to base 4412F or base sounder 4479 (4-wire), to base 4412S (2-wire) or to bases 4412F/4412J via interface board 4417 (2-wire)
• Automatic addressing with EBLWin does not work with 2-wire connection; the address is set manually with tool 4414
• Advanced mode: EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.4, EBLOne V ≥ 3.3; NORMAL mode also EBL512
• In NORMAL mode, it does not work with old 23xx detectors, except 2330/2312 with technical address +128
• Conductor size Ø 0.5–1.8 mm (0.2–2.5 mm²)
