Panasonic 4482RE is a red addressable sounder beacon that combines a sounder, a red LED beacon and a built-in short-circuit isolator in a single wall-mounted housing. The device takes its operating voltage from the COM loop. It is approved to EN 54-3, EN 54-17 and EN 54-23 and is suitable for indoor use (type A), for example in corridors, offices, toilets and other public spaces.

The sounder has seven tones selectable in EBLWin: continuous and intermittent 984 Hz, alternating 644/984 Hz, the German DIN 33404 sweep, the Dutch NEN 2575, the French NFS 32-001 and the Australian T3. The highest minimum sound pressure level is approximately 89–94 dB(A) at a distance of 1 metre, depending on the tone, and the maximum sound level is 96 dB(A). Beacon coverage and flash rate are selected in EBLWin: at high power the class is W-2.4-5.0 (5.0 × 5.0 m, 60 m³, LED at a height of no more than 2.4 m) and at low power O (2.5 × 2.5 m, 13 m³, no more than 2.1 m). The flash rate is 0.5 or 1 Hz. The beacons are not synchronised with each other.

The built-in short-circuit isolator does not require its own COM loop address and limits the effect of a short circuit to the faulty loop segment only.

Installation and compatibility

• Wall mounting at a height of no more than 2.4 m, indoor use only
• The keyholes on both sides of the housing are covered with the waterproof stickers supplied
• Automatic addressing with EBLWin or manually with the 4414/4414E tool (address 001–253)
• Advanced mode: EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.3, EBLOne V ≥ 3.3
• Conductor size Ø 0.6–1.4 mm (0.3–1.5 mm²)
