Westermo SLC20-DDM SFP module for LRW-702-F2

Product description

Westermo SLC20-DDM is a 100 Mbit/s SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver for single-mode fibre with a 9 µm core. The module is installed in the SFP slot of the LRW-702-F2 fibre modem when the fibre link of the TLON network (LonWorks TP/FT-10) is implemented with single-mode fibre. The LRW-702-F2 uses Westermo-approved SFP modules, and one modem requires one or two modules depending on the number of fibre ports.

Technical features

SLC20-DDM is the shortest-range model in the series: the wavelength is 1310 nm and the indicative range approx. 20 km. The transmit power is −15…−8 dBm and the receiver sensitivity −32 dBm. The connector is duplex LC and the module latch is blue. The DDM function (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) can be used to monitor the module’s temperature, voltage, bias current, and transmit and receive power; the manufacturer describes the monitoring as integrated into devices running the WeOS operating system.

Operating environment

The module has been tested for demanding industrial conditions: the operating temperature is −40…+85 °C and the humidity 5–95% RH. It meets the railway EMC standard EN 50121-4 and the laser safety standards EN/IEC 60825-1 and -2. For longer link distances, the same series has 40, 80 and 120 km models.
