Product description

Panasonic 4479 is a white addressable base sounder that is mounted on the ceiling and connected to the COM loop. The 4400I analogue multi-sensor detector is installed in the base, so the alarm sound is provided in the same space as the detector. The base cannot be used without a detector, because the short-circuit isolator is in the detector and without it the loop remains open. The product is intended for dry indoor areas.

The sounder has seven tones, including continuous and intermittent 984 Hz, the German DIN 33404 sweep, the Dutch NEN 2575 and the French NFS 32-001. Each of the three priority levels is programmed in EBLWin with its own control expression and tone. For example, a fire alarm elsewhere in the building can give one tone, an alarm on the same floor another, and an alarm from the base’s own detector a third. In normal mode, the sound pressure level is 90 ± 3 dB(A) (tone 6: 87 dB(A)), approved to EN 54-3. The selectable low-power mode (approx. 84 dB(A), max. 1.5 mA) reduces current consumption, but it is not approved to EN 54-3.

Installation

  • Ceiling mounting, screws not included; the detector can be locked to the base with a screw
  • When cables are brought in from above through a suspended ceiling, the 4489 seal is used (IP21)
  • Automatic addressing together with the 4400I or manually with the 4414/4414E tool; the detector must have a different address
  • Advanced mode: EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.4, EBLOne V ≥ 3.3
  • Conductor size Ø 0.6–1.385 mm (0.28–1.5 mm²)
