Product description

Panasonic 4461 is an addressable multi-function I/O unit with a built-in short-circuit isolator. The unit is connected to the COM loop, from which it also takes its operating voltage, and all inputs and outputs are programmed with EBLWin.

Inputs and outputs

• Supervised input Z/In0: either a zone input for conventional detectors and manual call points (short-circuit and open-circuit monitoring in accordance with EN 54-13, 10 µF end-of-line capacitor, max. 32 alarm points) or a general-purpose input for an NO/NC contact. An optical beam detector or a flame detector, for example, can also be connected via the input.
• Opto-isolated input In1, activated by an external voltage of 6–30 V DC.
• General-purpose input In2 for an NO/NC contact, supervised with a 33 kΩ end-of-line resistor.
• Two relay outputs Re0 and Re1 (NO/NC), for example for closing fire doors.

Installation

The unit is surface mounted on a wall or ceiling. Cables are brought in through the membrane entries of the housing; cable glands are not included. Addressing takes place automatically with EBLWin or manually with the 4414/4414E addressing tool. The short-circuit isolator is in use in Advanced mode (EBL512 G3 and EBL128 from version 2.4, EBLOne from version 3.3). In NORMAL mode, the unit works like model 3361. The 4463 kit is available for DIN rail mounting.

TVK version

According to the product information, the TVK version has additional terminals for the emergency lighting supply voltage. In the MX emergency lighting system, the 4461/4462 I/O units are used for phase monitoring, among other things: the phase monitoring device is connected to the supervised input Z/In0 of the unit, so that the emergency luminaires can be activated in the event of a phase failure. The control output of the MX Power Box is also connected to an input of the 4461/4462 unit.
