Panasonic 4409 IP67 TVK heat detector

Product description

Panasonic 4409 is an enclosed analogue heat detector intended for outdoor use and damp indoor premises. The detector measures temperature with a thermistor in the range 0–100 °C in 0.5 °C steps. The detector housing is watertight (IP67). The detector must not be exposed to strong sunlight or to temperatures below −20 °C.

In NORMAL mode, one of three alarm classes in accordance with EN 54-5 is selected for the detector with EBLWin:

• A1: alarm at 56 °C (rate of rise ≤ 4 °C/min) or 46 °C (rate of rise > 4 °C/min)
• A2S: alarm at 60 °C
• BS: alarm at 74 °C

The detector indicator lights up in an alarm and flashes once a second for as long as no address has been set. One external indicator, for example 2218, can be connected to terminals E+ and E−.

Installation

The detector is mounted on the ceiling on a junction box, into which the cables are brought through compression glands; for cables under 6 mm, the rubber tube supplied is used. The COM loop address (001–253) and mode are set with address setting tool 4414/4414E before connection to the loop. The detector works with EBL512 G3, EBLOne and EBL128 control panels. Test equipment such as Solo or Testifire can be used for testing.

TVK version

According to the product information, the TVK version has extra terminals for the emergency lighting power supply. This allows the 24 V emergency lighting supply line to be routed through the device along the same route as the COM loop, for example when MX emergency luminaires and exit signs are used.
