Product description
Panasonic 6298 is a conventional heat detector that gives an alarm at a fixed temperature of 117 °C. The detector is intended for outdoor areas and indoor premises with high humidity. It belongs to the 6295–6298 series, whose models differ in alarm temperature (57, 72, 87 and 117 °C).
The sensing part of the detector is a heat collector plate and a bimetal switch, and it meets the requirements of EN 54-5 in class ES. The alarm is latching: the alarm and the detector indicator stay on, even if the temperature drops, until the alarm is reset at the control panel. An external indicator can be connected to the detector, for example remote indicator 2218.
Installation
The detector is connected to a conventional zone line of the fire alarm control panel, and an end-of-line resistor matching the control panel is connected to the last device on the line. The junction box is mounted on the ceiling and can be fitted with one to three cable glands (cable diameter 4–8 mm). The conductor size is 0.6–1.2 mm (0.3–1.13 mm²). The detector is fixed to the box with two screws. Operation can be tested with, for example, Solo or Testifire test equipment.
