Panasonic 4401W optical smoke detector

Product description

Panasonic 4401W is a white analogue addressable optical smoke detector fitted in a low-profile analogue mounting base. The detector is intended for dry indoor premises and is suitable for EBL512 G3, EBL128 and EBLOne systems.

The smoke chamber contains an infrared LED and a photodiode, and smoke enters the chamber through an insect mesh and an optical labyrinth. The design improves smoke inflow and makes vapour condense on the outer surface of the housing, which reduces false alarms. The detector is supplied in NORMAL mode, in which the fire decision is made in the control panel. In Advanced mode, the fire decision is made in the detector by artificial intelligence, which adjusts sensitivity and delay according to changes in smoke, and the learning function selects a suitable algorithm for the room after about a month of monitoring. For known room types, such as kitchens, the algorithm is set manually in EBLWin. The detector compensates for contamination and gives a service signal when it needs to be replaced.

The 4401 also supports a fire door closing function, which is triggered by a silent alarm while the detector is disabled (EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.4.0, and EBLOne).

Installation and compatibility

• Fitted in analogue mounting base 3312x, 4313 or base sounder 3379
• The COM loop and an external indicator are connected to the mounting base
• Locking screw included (1.5 mm hex socket); the hole is drilled
• Address 001–253 and mode are set with tool 4414 or 4414E before connection to the loop
• Advanced mode: EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.0, EBLOne V ≥ 3.3
