Panasonic 3411 Fireray One beam detector

Panasonic 3411 is the Fireray One, a stand-alone reflective beam detector. The detector and reflector are installed on opposite sides of the space, and the detector monitors the infrared beam between them. Installation requires no special tools and can be carried out by one person: the laser is directed at the reflector, after which the detector aligns itself automatically.

The motorised Building Movement Tracking function compensates for alignment changes caused by natural building movement, and contamination compensation takes account of the gradual soiling of optical surfaces. Light Cancellation technology reduces the effect of sunlight and artificial light. The alarm threshold is selected with the detector switches: 25, 35 (default), 55 or 85%. Dynamic beam phasing allows detectors to be installed facing each other with the reflectors in the middle without crosstalk.

Installation

The measuring distance is 5–50 m with one reflector and 50–120 m with the long range kit (four reflectors). A clear space of 0.5 m must be left around the beam. The detector is connected to the fire alarm control panel via separate fire and fault relays, using a separate two-core cable (0.5–1.6 mm). The enclosure has three M20 knockouts and four drillable entries. The detector alignment range is ±4.5°, and up to ±70° with adjustment bracket 1170-000.
