Panasonic 3000-026 is an additional detector pack for the Fireray 3000 Ex d system. It contains a transmitter (clear lens), a receiver (dark lens), fixings and two brackets, but no controller. Two detector pairs can be connected to one Fireray 3000 Ex d controller, so the pack is used to extend the 3000-115 system with a second detector.

The Fireray 3000 Ex d is an end-to-end beam detector for protecting large hazardous areas. The transmitter sends an infrared beam to the receiver, and when smoke weakens the signal below the set threshold, the detector gives a fire alarm. The detector detects smouldering and heavily smoking fires at an early stage, which flame detectors may not detect. Typical sites include oil platforms, refineries and explosives stores.

Installation

The transmitter and receiver are ATEX-certified Ex d enclosures for Group II hazardous areas. Both ends have fine adjustment wheels for 10 degrees of adjustment in both planes, and the bracket provides up to 180 degrees of movement and 360 degrees of rotation. The receiver has laser alignment. The measuring distance is 10–80 m. The controller is located in a safe area, and it can also power the transmitter.
