Product description
MX40 Red X is a red cross panel for MX40 RX exit signs. The panel is fitted on top of the ordinary pictogram. In normal mode the sign shows the escape route in the usual way, but when an alarm point or zone of the fire alarm system goes into fire alarm, a control expression in the control panel lights a red X on the sign. This directs evacuees away from a route that is dangerous, for example because of smoke. The X goes out when the fire alarm is reset at the control panel.
The panel only works in RX bodies with red X illumination: MX40 RX 1 h (840101), MX40 RX 3 h (840301) and MX40 RX Black 3 h (840303). On the RX model the pictogram is always single-sided. In EBLWin the luminaire is programmed with type MXER.
Installation
First fit the pictogram in the mounting profile of the body. Then slide the X panel on top of the pictogram, tighten the screw and lock the panel in place with the plastic buttons supplied. Finally, the body is fitted to the analogue base 3312FLW or 3312W and the sign is turned to face the correct direction. The viewing distance of the RX bodies is 40 m and the degree of protection is IP41.
