PAP Days 2026 brought together PAP staff from across Finland

In early September, PAP Days 2026 brought together PAP Group staff from different parts of Finland under the theme “Olpahan aeka matka!” (‘What a journey!’). The theme aptly described both PAP Group’s 20-year journey and the shared trip to Tallinn. The three-day event was held on 4–6 September 2026, and its official programme took place on the Friday in Helsinki.

20 years of fire safety

PAP Group’s story began in 2006 as Turvasavo. Following an acquisition, the name changed to PAP Group in 2009, and over the years the company has grown into one of Finland’s leading fire safety companies. Since 2021, PAP Group has been part of the Nordic Prosero Security Group.

PAP Days 2026 offered a natural opportunity to pause and look back on this journey. During the day, the company’s history was recalled, its future direction and strategy were discussed, and long-serving and distinguished employees were recognised. In the spirit of the anniversary year, attention turned to both the past and the future.

The official programme

Friday’s programme began with morning coffee at Varma’s premises in Salmisaari, Helsinki. During the day, the staff heard about PAP Group’s latest news, the successes of the past year and plans for the future. At the same time, there was a pause to look at PAP Group’s journey to becoming a nationwide fire safety expert.

One of the most important themes of the day was strategy and a shared direction for the coming years. The discussions highlighted developing the customer experience and the importance of the staff as the foundation of the company’s success. The event also provided an opportunity for PAP employees working in different parts of Finland to exchange thoughts and views.

After lunch, there was an overview of the latest news from Prosero Group and the outlook for the group as a whole. The day ended with themes related to wellbeing at work and a reminder that a company’s most important resource is motivated staff who are doing well.

The strategy session looked at the company’s development, current situation and future goals. When thinking about strategy, it is important to know what strategy is and what it is needed for.

PAP of the Year awards and long careers in the spotlight

PAP Days have a long tradition as part of the company’s activities and sense of community. The annual event brings together staff from different parts of Finland, offering an opportunity to meet colleagues face to face, catch up and strengthen team spirit. At the same time, current issues are reviewed, successes are celebrated and everyone looks to the future together.

One of the highlights of PAP Days is the naming of the PAP of the Year. The PAP of the Year is a colleague voted for by the staff who has earned recognition through their own work. This year, the programme also included recognising employees who have been with the company for a long time, as some of those honoured have been helping to build the company’s story since its early years.

This year, the PAP of the Year award for meritorious work went to product manager Jari Ahola and logistics worker Ilona Kaski. Varma, for its part, wished to recognise Ville-Matti Tuovinen, Janne Kuittinen, Oskari Muhonen and Juha Suonpää with a small gift for their long and valuable careers.

A total of 54 PAP employees took part in the official part, so almost the company’s entire staff were able to gather under one roof. Some headed straight home at the end of the day, but most continued together to the West Terminal and the ship that took the PAP team to Tallinn.

PAP Days continued in Tallinn

After the official part, the journey continued with a cruise to Tallinn for those taking part in the full PAP Days 2026 programme. On Friday evening, everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner together on board, and Saturday’s programme included a guided tour of the Kiek in de Kök bastion passages and stone museum, as well as a shared dinner at the Argentiina restaurant in Tallinn. Informal time together continued into the evening before the journey back to Helsinki on Sunday.

The Tallinn programme also offered a chance to get to know colleagues outside everyday work. Shared experiences, conversations and time spent together are an important part of staff days, as they strengthen team spirit and create new connections between PAP employees working in different parts of Finland.

Twenty years together, a successful staff day and a trip to Tallinn made this year’s PAP Days special. Both figuratively and quite literally, it was quite a journey!
