In early September, PAP Days 2026 brought together PAP Group employees from across Finland under the theme “What a trip!” The theme aptly captured both the PAP Group’s 20-year journey and the group’s trip to Tallinn. The three-day event took place September 4–6, 2026, and its official program was held on Friday in Helsinki.
20 Years of Fire Safety
The story of PAP Group began in 2006 as Turvasavo. Following a corporate acquisition, the name was changed to PAP Group in 2009, and over the years, the company has grown into one of Finland’s leading players in the fire safety industry. Since 2021, PAP Group has been part of the Nordic Prosero Security Group.
PAP Days 2026 provided a natural opportunity to pause and reflect on this journey. During the day, we looked back on the company’s history, discussed its future direction and strategy, and recognized long-serving and distinguished employees. In the spirit of this anniversary year, we looked both to the past and to the future.
PAP Days 2026: Official Program
Friday’s program kicked off with morning coffee at Varma’s offices in Salmisaari, Helsinki. Throughout the day, staff heard about the latest news from the PAP Group, the successes of the past year, and plans for the future. At the same time, they took a moment to reflect on PAP Group’s journey to becoming a national fire safety expert.
One of the day’s key themes was strategy and a shared direction for the coming years. The discussions highlighted the importance of improving the customer experience and the role of employees as the foundation of the company’s success. The event also provided an opportunity for PAP employees working across Finland to exchange ideas and perspectives.
After lunch, we heard an update on current developments at Prosero Group and an outlook on the future of the entire group. The day concluded with a discussion of topics related to workplace well-being, and a reminder that a company’s most important asset is a motivated and healthy workforce.
PAP Awards of the Year and Long Careers in the Spotlight
PAP Days have a long tradition as part of the company’s operations and sense of community. This annual event brings together employees from across Finland, offering them the opportunity to meet colleagues in person, catch up, and strengthen team spirit. At the same time, we discuss current issues, celebrate our successes, and look toward the future together.
One of the highlights of PAP Day is the announcement of the “PAP of the Year.” The PAP of the Year is a coworker voted for by the staff who has earned recognition through their work. This year’s program also included a tribute to long-time employees, as some of the award recipients have been part of building the company’s history since its early years.
This year, Product Manager Jari Ahola and logistics employee Ilona Kaski received the PAP Award of the Year for their outstanding work. Varma, for its part, wanted to honor Ville-Matti Tuovi, Janne Kuitti, Oskari Muhonen, and Juha Suonpää with a small gift in recognition of their long and distinguished careers.
Fifty-four PAP employees took part in the official portion of the event, so nearly the entire company staff was able to gather under one roof. At the end of the day, some headed straight home, but most continued on together to the West Terminal and the ferry that took the PAP employees to Tallinn.
The PAP Days Continued in Tallinn
After the official portion of the event concluded, the trip continued with a cruise to Tallinn for those who participated in the entire PAP Days 2026 program. On Friday evening, everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner together on the ship, and Saturday’s program included, among other things, a guided tour of the Kiek in de Kök bastion passages and the Stone Museum, as well as a group dinner at an Argentine restaurant in Tallinn. The more informal socializing continued into the evening before the trip continued back to Helsinki on Sunday.
The Tallinn program also provided an opportunity to get to know colleagues outside of the workplace. Shared experiences, conversations, and time spent together are an important part of staff days, as they strengthen team spirit and foster new connections among PAP employees working in different parts of Finland.
Our twenty-year journey together, a successful staff day, and a trip to Tallinn made this year’s PAP Days truly special. Both figuratively and quite literally—what a trip it was!
