Product description
Panasonic 3407 Talentum IR3 is a flame detector for sites where an open fire may break out, such as engine and compressor rooms, aircraft hangars, fuel loading bays, waste handling, woodworking and tunnels. It detects almost all flames, from hydrocarbon fires producing radiation at 4.3 µm to invisible fires such as hydrogen flames. It works indoors and outdoors and also detects flames through glass.
The detector has three sensors sensitive to different IR wavelengths, which it uses to distinguish flames from other radiation sources. The detector responds to the low-frequency (1–15 Hz) flicker of a flame even when there is oil, dust, water vapour or ice on the lens. False alarms caused by sunlight flicker are prevented by filters and signal processing. Sensitivity, response time and a latching or non-latching output are selected with settings, and the detector has an internal automatic and manual test.
Installation
The detector is connected to the fire alarm system via fire and fault relays, or to process control with a 4–20 mA signal. The operating voltage is 14–30 V DC. To meet the directional dependence requirement of EN 54-10, the viewing angle must not exceed ±30°. Accessories include the adjustable bracket 3407-7127, the stainless steel weather shield 12545 and the Talentum test lamp 1800-10.
