A fire broke out in the production hall of Best-Hall's Kälviä branch on the morning of April 2022. The fire had the makings of a major disaster, but thanks to the Panasonic fire detection systems installed by PAP Group, firefighting work was quickly started.
Sampling detectors installed by the PAP Group reacted to the fire at an early stage, and staff had also pressed the fire button and called the emergency call centre. The acute phase of the fire was over by mid-morning and there was no damage to personnel or equipment. Staff were able to evacuate the building quickly as the fire bells were sounding.
The production shutdown in the building lasted only two days. The efficient operation of the sampling system ensured that business continued for a couple of days after the fire.
