PAP Group’s fire alarm system prevented far greater damage

A fire broke out in the production hall of Best-Halli’s Kälviä site one April morning in 2022. The fire had the makings of even greater destruction, but thanks to the Panasonic fire alarm systems installed by PAP Group, firefighting in the building got under way quickly.

The aspirating smoke detectors installed by PAP Group reacted to the fire at an early stage; in addition, staff had pressed a manual call point and called the Emergency Response Centre. The acute phase of the fire was over by late morning, and there was no time for any injuries or equipment damage to occur. Staff were able to evacuate the building quickly as the fire bells sounded.

Production in the building was interrupted for only two days. The effective operation of the aspirating smoke detection system ensured that business could resume a couple of days after the fire.
