# Westermo LRW-702-F2 fibre-to-copper converter, TLON network

Fibre modem and repeater for the LonWorks TP/FT-10 bus, for DIN rail mounting. It extends the copper section of a TLON network over fibre point to point, as a bus or as a redundant ring.

## Product description

Westermo LRW-702-F2 is a modem between the LonWorks® bus (TP/FT-10) and a fibre-optic network. In the Panasonic TLON network, the fire alarm control panels communicate on a LonWorks TP/FT-10 channel, and with a fibre repeater the channel can be extended, for example between buildings, where copper cable is not possible or interference is a risk. The technical description of the TLON network names the Westermo LRW fibre repeaters (LRW-102 or newer) as the recommended solution.

### Operation

The device operates as a repeater: the optical signal is regenerated, which removes jitter and ensures reliable data transfer. The device has two SFP slots, for which Westermo-approved multimode or single-mode fibre modules are selected. Depending on the module, the link can be single-fibre or up to 120 km long. With two fibre ports, a multidrop or redundant ring network can be built, and an alarm output indicates a fibre fault.

### Installation

The housing is mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail. All interfaces are galvanically isolated and transient-protected. The redundant supply inputs can be connected to two separate sources; the operating voltage is 10–60 V DC or 20–30 V AC. The device meets the industrial EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. SFP modules are ordered separately, for example the TLON LRW SLC20 SFP module for single-mode fibre.
