# Ambient System SMART-PSM48 power management unit with battery charger

Power management unit for the smartVES system that distributes 48 V DC to amplifiers and other devices and charges and monitors the battery bank. Up to four SMART-PS48800 power supplies, load up to 3,200 W. EN 54-4.

## Product description

SMART-PSM48 distributes DC power from the power supply units and the battery bank to the devices of the smartVES voice alarm system. According to the manufacturer, the supply power in battery operation is up to 3.2 kW (48 V). The unit meets the requirements of EN 54-4.

The main power source is provided by 800 W SMART-PS48800 power supply units, of which up to four can be connected. The power supply units are mounted in the SMART-PF4 mounting frame. Standby power comes from a battery bank of four 12 V VRLA batteries with a capacity of up to 200 Ah.

The power management unit keeps the battery bank charged and compensates the charging parameters for temperature. It monitors the series resistance of the battery bank and its wiring in accordance with Annex A2 of EN 54-4.
