# Panasonic 6385 tube grommet

Rubber seal for the duct detector venturi tube penetration. Used when the tube of the Panasonic 6377 duct detector housing passes through the entire duct and exits on the opposite side.

## Product description

Panasonic 6385 is a rubber seal for the venturi tube penetration of the duct detector housing 6377 (Uniguard-4). When the ventilation duct is more than 0.6 metres wide, the venturi tube is extended with extension tube 6386, and the tube must pass through the entire duct. The end of the tube then comes out through the opposite wall of the duct, and the penetration is sealed with this rubber seal.

The seal prevents air leaks at the penetration. The operation of the duct detector is based on the air passing through the venturi tube corresponding to the airflow in the duct, so tight joints and penetrations are important for reliable smoke detection across the entire duct width.

### Installation

A Ø 51 mm hole is drilled in the opposite wall of the duct. If required, the extension tube is cut to a suitable length, an end cap is fitted to the end of the tube and the rubber seal 6385 is slipped onto the tube. The venturi tube may extend at most 30 mm outside the duct wall. The hole on the housing side is Ø 38 mm, or Ø 51 mm if bracket 6382 is used. After installation, detector operation is checked with test spray or smoke.
