# Panasonic 6218 damp-area mounting box for detectors

Moisture protection, i.e. a drip pan, for detectors, installed on the ceiling behind the mounting base and detector. Protects Panasonic smoke and heat detectors from moisture and water dripping from the ceiling.

## Product description

Panasonic 6218 is a moisture protection for detectors (drip pan), used with Panasonic smoke and heat detectors when the detector is installed in a mounting base. The protection is intended for sites where water may run or drip from the ceiling, or where the detector is exposed to moisture.

The protection has two external mounting flanges, which make the joint with the ceiling tight. Cables are brought in through the supplied cable glands, which are suitable for cables 6–10 mm in diameter. The degree of protection is IP53.

### Compatibility

According to the manufacturer, the protection fits mounting bases 2324, 3312, 3312F, 3312FL, 4313 and 4412F. The same protection is also used with the detector heater 6228, in which case the heater plate and, if required, an insulating plate are installed between the protection and the base.
