# Panasonic 5090-1 TLON communication board for EBL512 G3 panel

## Product description

Panasonic 5090 is a TLON communication board for connecting EBL512 G3 fire alarm control panels to each other in a TLON network. The network can have up to 30 panels, and each panel has access to the data of the whole system. A network is needed, for example, when the system uses 5001 panels without display, which do not operate stand-alone.

The board is a transformer-isolated FTT-10 interface that supports the LonWorks TP/FT-10 bus topology. The panel’s main board has slots for two boards. One board forms a single network and two boards a redundant network: normally the traffic runs in network 0, and in the event of a fault (open circuit or short circuit) the panels switch to network 1, which is continuously monitored. For maximum reliability and the requirements of EN 54-2, the manufacturer recommends a redundant network.

### Installation and commissioning

The network cable is Belden 7703 NH (1 pair, 22 AWG) or equivalent, and the cable length per channel must not exceed 900 m. Routers or a fibre link are used for longer distances. COM loop cables should not be used in the TLON network. The network is configured and installed with the TLON Manager software, which also assigns the panel numbers. The board is not needed in a panel that operates on its own.
