## Product description

Panasonic 4612 is a lithium metal battery for the Panasonic wireless fire alarm system. The battery is used in the 4611 wireless optical smoke detector, the 4614 wireless manual call point and the 4645 wireless local alarm acknowledgement button. Each device has two batteries, and new devices are supplied with the batteries already fitted; the 4612 is intended as a spare part.

The battery is a 3 V lithium battery with a capacity of 1,600 mAh. It withstands the current peaks caused by radio transmission well, and in normal use its service life is up to six years. The long service life reduces the need for battery replacement, and thus service visits, at sites with a large number of wireless devices.

### Battery replacement

A wireless device reports a battery fault to the control panel when the battery voltage drops below 2.8 V. Below 2.3 V, the device stops radio transmission and the control panel gives a no-response fault. Replace both batteries at the same time and keep the device without batteries for about two seconds so that it restarts and the latched battery fault is acknowledged.
