# Panasonic 4611 wireless optical smoke detector

Wireless optical smoke detector for Panasonic EBL fire alarm systems. The detector communicates via base unit 4620 and suits sites where cabling is difficult.

## Product description

Panasonic 4611 is a wireless optical smoke detector connected to an addressable EBL fire alarm system (EBL128, EBLOne or EBL512 G3) via addressable base unit 4620. It suits buildings where cables are difficult to conceal, as well as system extensions and temporary premises.

The detector works on the light-scattering principle: smoke passes through an insect mesh and a labyrinth into the measuring chamber, where an IR LED and a photodiode detect it. The alarm threshold is 3.5%/m. The detector automatically compensates for contamination and gives a service warning when the compensation exceeds 2%/m. The built-in buzzer is programmed in EBLWin for three priority levels. Removal of the detector from its mounting base and a drop in battery voltage are shown as faults on the control panel.

### Installation

The detector is mounted on the ceiling in the mounting base supplied, and its adjustable antenna is pointed towards the base unit. Each detector uses one COM loop address, and a maximum of 16 wireless units can be registered to one base unit. The device is powered by two 3 V lithium batteries 4612, which are included in the delivery. It is advisable to check the signal quality at the installation site with the wireless network planning tool 4613. Reinforced concrete strongly attenuates the signal, so a separate base unit is recommended for each floor.
