# Panasonic 4462 I/O TVK two-input unit with short-circuit isolator

Addressable two-input unit with short-circuit isolator, for example for monitoring sprinklers and other contacts. IP65 enclosure; the TVK version has additional terminals for the emergency lighting supply voltage.

## Product description

Panasonic 4462 is an addressable two-input unit with a built-in short-circuit isolator. It is suitable, for example, for bringing status information from a sprinkler system or other equipment into the fire alarm system. The unit takes its operating voltage from the COM loop, and the inputs are programmed with EBLWin.

### Inputs

The unit has two general-purpose inputs (Z/In0 and In2) for NO or NC contacts. The inputs can be programmed as supervised or unsupervised; a supervised NO input uses a 33 kΩ end-of-line resistor, so that an open circuit (over 43 kΩ) is reported as a fault. The unit has no relay outputs; the more versatile I/O unit is the 4461.

### Installation

The unit is surface mounted on a wall or ceiling. Cables are brought in through the membrane entries of the housing; cable glands are not included. Addressing takes place automatically with EBLWin or manually with the 4414/4414E addressing tool. The unit works in Advanced mode with EBL512 G3 and EBL128 control panels from version 2.4 and with EBLOne control panels from version 3.3. The 4463 kit is available for DIN rail mounting.

### TVK version

According to the product information, the TVK version has extra terminals for the emergency lighting power supply. In the MX emergency lighting system, the 4461/4462 I/O units are used for phase monitoring, among other things: the phase monitoring device is connected to the supervised input Z/In0 of the unit, so that the emergency luminaires can be activated in the event of a phase failure. The control output of the MX Power Box is also connected to an input of the 4461/4462 unit.
