# Panasonic 4402 multi-sensor detector with carbon monoxide detection

Analogue addressable multi-sensor detector with an optical smoke detector, a heat detector and a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor. A smoke alarm also requires a rise in CO concentration, which reduces false alarms.

## Product description

Panasonic 4402 is a grey analogue addressable multi-sensor detector with an optical smoke detector, a thermistor-based heat detector and an electrochemical carbon monoxide (CO) sensor in a low-profile housing. The detector is intended for dry indoor premises where an ordinary smoke detector is prone to false alarms, for example due to artificial smoke or oil mist. When designing coverage areas, the 4402 is treated as an optical smoke detector in accordance with national regulations.

The fire decision is based on artificial intelligence, which combines smoke density, temperature, CO concentration and their rates of rise. Temperature thresholds (57 °C or a rapid rise) trigger an alarm on their own, but the smoke threshold additionally requires a rise in CO concentration. For example, with a rapid rise in smoke, an alarm requires a CO rise of at least 2 ppm per minute and a CO level of at least 5 ppm. Smoke, temperature and CO values can be read from the control panel. The detector compensates for contamination and gives a service signal when it needs to be replaced, and also 72 months after the CO sensor was manufactured.

-   Fitted in analogue mounting base 3312x, 4313 or base sounder 3379; locking screw included
-   The COM loop and an external indicator are connected to the mounting base
-   Address 001–253 is set with tool 4414 before connection to the loop
-   NORMAL mode: EBL512 G3 and EBL128 V ≥ 2.1, EBLOne V ≥ 3.3
-   In test mode, smoke triggers an alarm without CO; Testifire tests smoke, heat and CO simultaneously
