# Panasonic 4318W combined heat detector

Conventional combined heat detector with a fixed alarm threshold of 59 °C and a rate-of-rise function (class A1R). Connected to a detection zone of the fire alarm control panel.

## Product description

Panasonic 4318W is a white conventional combined heat detector, class A1R. It gives an alarm when the temperature reaches the fixed alarm threshold (59 °C, operating range 54–65 °C) or when the temperature rises rapidly, by more than 6 °C per minute. The detector is intended for dry indoor premises. It can be used in EBL512 G3, EBL128 and EBL512 systems.

The sensing element is a thermistor. The alarm is latching: even if the temperature drops after an alarm, the detector LED and any connected external indicator stay lit until the alarm is reset at the fire alarm control panel. The quiescent current of the detector is only 0.015 mA.

### Installation

The detector is fitted in mounting base 2324, to which the detection zone and any external indicator (e.g. 2218, terminals E+ and E−) are connected. The detector is pressed into the base with the markings aligned and turned clockwise. An end-of-line device is connected to the last device in the zone; its type depends on the control panel and the zone input. The conductor size for the base is Ø 0.65–1.6 mm (0.3–2 mm²). Operation can be tested with, for example, Solo or Testifire test equipment.
