# Panasonic 3406 Fireray 3000

## Product description

Panasonic 3406 is the Fireray 3000, an end-to-end infrared beam detector. It provides cost-effective protection for large, open spaces with high ceilings and suits sites where maintaining ceiling-mounted smoke detectors would be difficult. The detector is also suitable for spaces where the line of sight for the infrared beam is narrow or where structures have reflective surfaces. The compact heads also suit architecturally demanding and historic buildings.

The transmitter sends an infrared beam to the receiver, and when smoke weakens the signal below the set threshold, the system gives a fire alarm. The sensitivity (35–60%), the alarm and fault delay (2–30 s) and other settings are set on the LCD display of the controller. Light Cancellation technology reduces false alarms caused by sunlight and artificial light, and contamination is compensated automatically. Each detector has its own fire and fault relay.

### Installation

The measuring distance is 5–120 m. The transmitter and receiver are aligned with fine adjustment wheels (10° of adjustment in each plane), and the laser alignment in the receiver allows installation as a single-person job from the controller or the receiver. There is a two-wire connection between the controller and the receiver, and the controller can also power the transmitter. Two detector pairs can be connected to one controller. Accessories available include protective cage 1000-019, anti-condensation heater 3000-204, flush mounting plate 3000-202 and commissioning and maintenance kit 1150-000.
