# Panasonic 2810 ATEX optical smoke detector SLR-E-IS

## Product description

Panasonic 2810 is an intrinsically safe (IS) conventional optical smoke detector manufactured by Hochiki for hazardous areas. It is compatible with most conventional fire alarm systems and is intended for areas where explosive gas mixtures may be present.

The detector has a high-performance, removable optical chamber that replaces ionisation smoke detectors in most applications. Automatic sensitivity window verification (ASWV) compensates for contamination and keeps the detector at optimum sensitivity, which reduces false alarms. The low-profile design has a one-piece outer cover and a single fire alarm indicator that is visible from all directions. The detector has a remote indicator output, and its operating voltage range is 9.5–30 V DC.

### Installation

The detector is ATEX rated Ex ia IIC T5 Ga (−20 °C ≤ Ta ≤ +55 °C) and is suitable for category 1 areas and all lower categories. The detectors are connected to a detector circuit in the hazardous area, which is connected to the control panel via a Zener barrier or galvanic isolator located in the safe area. Up to 20 IS detectors can be connected to one circuit, together with an unlimited number of IS manual call points, which are connected at the start of the circuit. The detector is installed in the YBN-R/4(IS) base designed for IS detectors.
