# MX40 exit sign body, 3 h

Body of the addressable MX40 exit sign with a 3-hour battery backup. It is connected to the COM loop of a Panasonic fire alarm system, which continuously monitors the condition of the luminaire.

## Product description

MX40 is an addressable exit sign whose body (mounting profile, electronics and battery) is fitted with a separately ordered pictogram. The luminaire is maintained: the whole pictogram is illuminated in both normal and emergency mode, and during a power failure the internal battery keeps the light on for 3 hours. The viewing distance is 40 m. The luminaire is suitable for dry indoor spaces such as hotels, hospitals, offices and shopping centres.

The luminaire is connected to the COM loop of a Panasonic fire alarm system, so the control panel monitors its condition and reports faults. The device automatically performs a function test, a battery test and a duration test at least once a year. The indicator light shows its status: green = normal, flashing green = commissioning test, red = LED fault, flashing red = battery fault or failed duration test.

### Installation

The body is fitted to the Panasonic analogue base 3312FLW or 3312W, which can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. The COM loop is connected to the SA and SB terminals of the base and the 24 V operating voltage line to the E+ and E− terminals; the operating voltage is supplied, for example, by the MX Power Box power supply unit. The address (001–253) is set with the address setting tool 4414 in NORMAL mode (EBL512 G3). The pictogram is slid into the profile until it clicks into place and is locked with a screw. A threaded rod plate 920013 is available as an accessory.
