## Product description

E2S IS-mA1 is a compact, intrinsically safe (Ex ia) sounder certified to ATEX, IECEx and EAC Ex for zone 0 applications and FM-approved for Class I, Division 1 and Class I, Zone 0 applications. It is suitable for fire alarm systems, security systems and process control. According to the declaration of performance, the sounder meets EN 54-3, the standard for fire alarm sounders (EC type-examination certificate 0786-CPD-20338, VdS). This model is red (RAL 3000).

### Operation

The nominal sound output is 100 dB(A) at 1 metre, with an audible range of approximately 40 m (1 kHz). There are 49 selectable tones (UKOOA/PFEER compatible), and each can be switched externally to a second or third alarm stage. The volume is adjustable in the range 90–100 dB(A). The tones of multiple sounders synchronise automatically, and the input is protected against overload and reverse polarity. The end-of-line resistor is certified.

### Installation and power supply

The sounder is powered via a certified Zener barrier or galvanic isolator (16–28 V DC) whose output parameters do not exceed Uo 28 V, Io 93 mA and Po 660 mW. Typical current consumption is 25 mA (24 V supply, 28 V / 300 Ω barrier). The enclosure has two M20 cable entry knockouts, the terminals accept 0.5–2.5 mm² conductors, and the fixings are stainless steel. A separate IS-mA1M version is available for mining environments (Group I).
