## Product description

E2S IS-A105N is a powerful, intrinsically safe (Ex ia) sounder certified to ATEX, IECEx and Ex EAC for zone 0 applications and FM-approved for Class I, Division 1 and Class I, Zone 0 applications. It is suitable for all intrinsically safe alarm applications, such as fire alarm systems, security systems and process control. This model is red (RAL 3000).

### Operation

The nominal sound output is 105 dB(A) at 1 metre, with an audible range of approximately 60 m (1 kHz). There are 49 tones (UKOOA/PFEER compatible), and each can be switched externally to a second or third alarm stage. The volume is adjustable in the range 96–105 dB(A). The tones of multiple sounders synchronise automatically. The input is protected against overload and reverse polarity.

### Installation and power supply

The sounder is powered via a certified Zener barrier or galvanic isolator (16–28 V DC) whose output parameters do not exceed Uo 28 V, Io 93 mA and Po 660 mW. Typical current consumption is 25 mA with a 24 V supply and a 28 V / 300 Ω barrier. Dual terminals allow the line to be daisy-chained, and the enclosure has two M20 cable entries with stopping plugs. The unit is fixed either by its external lugs or by internal BESA-compatible fixing points; the fixings are stainless steel. According to the instruction manual, the sounder can be used together with the intrinsically safe IS-L101L beacon.
