## A fire alarm system for a new building

In a new building, the fire alarm system is part of the building services and fire safety. The choice of system takes into account the intended use of the spaces, the size of the building and the connections to other systems.

## Extending an existing system

A change to the premises, a new use or an extension to the building may require the fire alarm system to be supplemented. The extension is designed on the basis of a survey of the existing system.

When extending a system, any changes needed to the programming, the documentation and functions linked to other systems are also assessed. The solution is not chosen solely on the number of new devices, but as part of the system as a whole.

## Replacing an old fire alarm system

Replacing a fire alarm system can mean upgrading individual components or a more extensive system renewal. The condition of the existing equipment, the availability of spare parts and the future needs of the property help to determine the right timing and approach.

## From survey to installation and commissioning

The project begins with a survey by our sales team, system selection and a quote. Once you accept the quote, our project design team prepares the detailed design for the chosen solution.

PAP provides equipment deliveries, installation, project management, programming and commissioning. We program the system functions in accordance with the design and test them during commissioning. While the system is in use, we provide maintenance, training and documentation services.

## Equipment and complementary solutions

Aspirating smoke detection is one option for spaces with special requirements for smoke detection. Optical beam detectors provide smoke detection in large spaces. Alarm transmission forwards alarm signals to a receiving point.

## What determines the price of a fire alarm system?

The price depends on the size of the site, the number of devices, the installation work and the need for design, programming and commissioning. Reuse of existing equipment and connections to other systems also affect the overall cost. The quote shows the scope and price of the procurement.

## Can existing devices be reused?

Existing devices can be reused if their condition and compatibility suit the chosen solution. We determine this as part of preparing the system upgrade. The decision is based on the state of the equipment, not on its age alone.

## How do you get a project started?

Contact our sales team and tell us the use, location and timetable of the site. For an upgrade, details of the existing system, its design documents and its maintenance history make the survey easier. You do not need to have all the information ready when you first get in touch.
